What This Show Is

The Change Agent Podcast is analysis and commentary on consequential leadership, with a focus on Ukraine. We are not a news organization and we don't report the news.
• We take events and reporting that are already public, and explain what they mean and why they matter.
• We have a point of view. We support Ukraine, and we say so openly.
• Guest interviews are conversations about leadership and experience. They are not news interviews.
• Eric appears as host and analyst. Never as reporter, correspondent, or journalist.

Sourcing and Attribution
Every factual claim on the show traces back to a named, published source.
• Say the source out loud ("according to Reuters...") and show it on screen when we use video.
• Use established outlets, official statements, court records, and published research. If something only appears on social media, it doesn't go on air unless a credible outlet has confirmed it.
• List the main sources in the show notes for each solo episode.
• Keep fact and opinion clearly separate. "Here's what happened" comes first, then "here's what I think it means."
• Wait 48 to 72 hours after a major event before covering it, so we're commenting on facts that have settled and not chasing the news cycle.

What We Don't Do
These are the activities that would turn the show into journalism, so we stay out of them.
• Breaking news. We never publish something before it has been reported elsewhere.
• Unnamed sources. No "a source told me" claims on air.
• Tips and leaks. If documents or tips come in, we don't publish anything from them unless it has already been reported publicly.
• Field reporting. We may travel to Ukraine to interview people, but we don't present footage as on-the-ground coverage of events.
• News labels. No "exclusive," "investigation," or "breaking" in titles or promotion.
• New claims from guests. If a guest reveals something nobody has reported, we either confirm it independently before release or cut it.

Guests and Operational Security
With military guests and anyone working in Ukraine, their safety comes before getting good content.
• No unit locations, troop movements, timing, equipment positions, or anything a hostile analyst could use.
• Faces, names, call signs, and backgrounds are only shown with the guest's explicit OK. Blur or cut anything they haven't approved.
• Before an episode is published, someone reviews the edit specifically for operational security.
• If a guest asks for something to be removed after recording, we remove it. No debate.
• Guests aren't paid for appearing. If a guest's organization sponsors or partners with the show, we disclose that on air.

Corrections
When we get a fact wrong, we fix it in the open.
• Minor errors get a correction in the show notes and the YouTube description.
• Significant errors get a spoken correction at the top of the next episode, plus the written note.
• We don't quietly delete or re-edit episodes to hide a mistake. The exception is operational security, which gets removed immediately.
• Corrections can be sent to eric@thechangeagent.studio.

Legal note: Defamation laws applies to us. Our main protection is the "honest opinion" defence in the Defamation Act 2013, which depends on opinions being based on true or already-published facts. Before we name any individual as a wrongdoer, we get legal advice.
